    everis foundation opens call for the XI Entrepreneurs Award, aimed to promote innovation and research

    The everis foundation has opened the call for the XI Entrepreneurs prize, aimed to promote innovation and research. Those interested can should register online on the everis foundation website (www.fundacioneveris.com). The deadline for receipt of applications, which may come from any country, is 1 June.

    The Entrepreneur Award, worth € 60,000 euros, helps finance business projects of technological innovation, social or environmental management. This is the case of "Aquareturn", the project awarded in the previous edition, which also has the advice, experience and knowledge of everis group to take their first steps as a company.

    The project leader, Alfonso Cuervo-Arango, received the award from the hands of the former Minister of Science and Innovation, Cristina Garmendia, the President of the everis foundation, Eduardo Serra, and the President of everis, Fernando Francés.

    If the jury finds that one of the finalists deserve it, the everis foundation will awarded a it with a second prize, worth € 40,000. The winner, as the project receiving the Entrepreneurs award, may participate in the Latin American Awards for Innovation and Entrepreneurship, organized by the Secretaría General Iberoamericana. The award-winners event will be held this year in Spain.

    Last year, the everis foundation received more than 130 projects that were assessed and analyzed by a jury of eminent personalities from the business world. The everis foundation, created in 2001 and chaired by Eduardo Serra, believe strongly in these awards, as a means to raise awareness and to promote the identification of new opportunities to help society.

    Presentation of the book "Keys to transform Spain" (Ediciones Destino) in the Rafael del Pino Foundation

    The event was chaired by María del Pino, President of the Rafael del Pino Foundation, Ramon Perelló, publisher of Ediciones Destino, Eduardo Serra, President of the everis foundation and vice president of everis, Emilio Ontiveros, President of AFI and Professor of business Economics at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid, and Victor Garcia de la Concha, recently appointed director of the Instituto Cervantes. The presentation of the book “Keys to transform Spain” was held under the watchful eyes of over 300 guests.

    The book, published by Ediciones Destino, is the fruit of a collaborative work of Eduardo Serra together with the director of the TransformaEspaña initiative and director of Innovation at everis, Marc Alba, and the coordinator of the report and director of business innovation and regional development of everis Innova, David Garcia Hernandez.

    “Keys to transform Spain” reflects the individual opinions of its three authors, as well as anonymous reflections of the signatories of the TransformaEspaña report. It also includes new appointments that show the different points of views of leading experts of our country.

    It was in the spring of 2010 when around a hundred personalities from the business world, academia and opinion leaders, were interviewed by the everis foundation to work on the TransformaEspaña report. After a collective exercise of reflection, without institutional intermediaries, they offered a vision of the country's problems and possible solutions.
